Worthingtons are one of five firms in Northern Ireland appointed to the Sport NI panel to provide legal services to its’ affiliated sporting bodies and clubs. We have expertise in all matters concerning governance, charitable status, safeguarding and regulatory matters. We have advised the Irish Rugby Football Union’s Ulster Branch and we advise a number of local golf clubs and football clubs on an ongoing basis.

We also have specific expertise in country sports law, and we both advise and represent individuals involved in lawful hunting pursuits, and in firearms licensing matters. In the latter regard, we are frequently instructed by individuals appealing decisions of PSNI to the Secretary of State / Department of Justice and in pursuing such cases in court on judicial review.
