Costs Involved in Family Law Cases

When dealing with the breakdown of a relationship, an important consideration is often the cost of any such proceedings.

Here at Worthingtons Solicitors, we pride ourselves on being open and up front regarding the costs of your case and we will strive to ensure that your case is handled in the most cost-efficient way possible.

We understand that it is important for our clients to be able to ascertain and keep on top of what the costs of their case are likely to be.

At the outset of your case, we offer a free initial half hour consultation at one of our offices in the heart of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter or in Newtownards in North Down, where you are welcome to discuss your case with a member of our team, who specialise in all areas of family law.

We do offer a number of fixed fee services for straightforward uncontested matters as set out in our fee structure below:

As we deal with each case on an individual basis, your particular circumstances may mean that it is not possible to conduct your case within the fee framework outlined above.  If the case is contested or protracted your fees will be charged on an hourly rate which will be clearly set out to you at the outset of your case.

We are committed to providing a transparent and cost-effective service and will keep you appraised regarding the issue of costs upon request throughout your case.  We operate a flexible payment service and are happy to discuss this with you at any time.

In addition, we can also provide advice about whether you are eligible to apply for Legal Aid, to assist in covering the costs of your case.
