This year we are delighted to announce the Extern Group as our charity of the year.

The Extern Group are the leading social justice charity across the island of Ireland. Operating since 1978, they believe another chance can change a life.

Each year, Extern speak up for and support more than 19,500 children, young people, individuals and families. They enable them to overcome their challenges, empower positive change and support family unity.

We want to raise vital funds for Extern to enable them to continue to transform lives. Extern make a huge difference in peoples’s lives by reaching in rather than waiting for those in need to reach out. Our fundraising efforts throughout the year will go towards helping the Extern Group continue to support and house people who are:

• Homeless or facing homelessness
• Refugees
• The Traveller community
• Living with an offending past
• Living with the impact of suicide
• Dealing with mental health issues
• Dealing with drugs and alcohol issues.

Our support for Extern began with members of our team attending the 2019 Belfast Pride parade and walking alongside some of the young people Extern support. We will continue to champion this charity throughout the year with many sponsored events including the 8th Annual Extern Dambusters race at the Silent Valley Mountain Centre, coffee mornings, quiz events and fantasy football leagues to name just a few!  

Our policy of donating money to charity in lieu of Christmas cards will continue as will our policy of supporting charities that impact on team members.

The firm supports Will Aid each year and will continue to do so. We were awarded one of the top donating firms of 2017. Will Aid supports the work of nine charity partners (Actionaid, Age UK, Trocaire, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF and Sightsavers).

Our responsible approach extends to our suppliers, for example our water coolers are provided by Aqua Aid.  Their products carry an automatic donation to charity, was has helped bring clean water to more than 2 million people.

We have also sponsored Ards F.C. for over over 10 years and this illustrates our commitment to the local community in the North Down area.
